Hi all – welcome to ‘this side of eden.’ I do consider it a real privilege that you stopped by – thank you. I know how busy life is, and it means so much that you’d pop into my world for a bit.
Just to tell you a little about me: I am a Christian, a wife, a teacher, an aspiring writer, an observer of the human experience. I live on Long Island, I teach high school English, I might still be considered a newly-wed (just going on 2 years). I’m a bit of a perfectionist, a worrier, and sometimes a procrastinator. I love Jesus, I love my husband and family, I love my kittens. I am a chronic dieter and I refuse to buy the next size higher. I like dangley earrings, knee-high boots, the outdoors; I like to travel, to eat Indian food, and I love to sleep. I like to experiment with photography, home decor, scrap-booking if I’m feeling especially crafty and – blogging. I am a compulsive organizer, and sometimes, I organize so thoroughly that I can’t remember where I put things. I am absent-minded, a horrible multi-tasker, and I have a hard time saying ‘no’ – but it’s getting better. I need new goals and projects to keep me motivated; I am a huge advocate of being a life-long learner, and if I had my way, I’d be a career student. I can be pretty opinionated, but not always very vocal about it. I LOVE missions and believe that the only fulfilling life is one that is given for something bigger than me, that will outlast me. I believe that ‘something’ is the cause of Christ – and when I’m in sync with Him, I’m at my happiest and my best. He has won my heart. What matters to Him matters to me. End of story.
